The next morning, I’m a little disappointed when I get a big bouquet of flowers from Ford but he doesn’t call me or stop by my office.

Lexi stops by at lunch. “So, how was it?” she asks. “That man is so fine! I can see why you like him so much.”

I frown. “How do you know I like him?”

She shakes her head and grabs a piece a chicken from her plate. “Sweetie, it’s written all over your face. Besides, you’ve checked your phone twenty times since I arrived.”

I shrug. “Last night was amazing.” I blush and look away.

Lexi frowns. “So, what’s the problem if he’s amazing?”

I play with my food, trying to gather my thoughts. “I don’t know him very well, but he didn’t call me this morning. He sent me that huge bouquet,” I say, gesturing toward the flowers sitting on my desk. “He was a gentleman last night and he gave me a great orgasm.” I shrug. “I don’t know. He’s rich and powerful, and I’m afraid he’s just playing with me. That I’m just a vacation fling.”

She nods. “I understand your concern, but I still think you should give him a chance. People are not always what they seem. But I’m glad to hear he’s good in bed,” she teases me.

I shake my head. “We didn’t hook up. We just fooled around a little on the beach. We both agreed we want to wait. I like him so much, Lexi. I was blinded by his body when we met, but he’s really funny and easy to talk to.”

Lexi takes a sip of water and looks at me funny. “Kali you sound like you have a crush on him.”

“Yeah, I know. I think I do. Everything is complicated because he’s also a guest, and I don’t want people to think I’m sleeping with my clients.”
